OUR CLUBHOUSE
Since it was formed in 1890 the club has three clubhouses, all occupying the some location that takes full advantage of the stunning seaside vistas. Today’s clubhouse very much reflects the overall stature of the club. If anything the views for the bar and restaurant are the best ever. Not to mention the views of the clubhouse experienced playing the 8th and 9th holes.
Inside the clubhouse boasts an excellent restaurant and bar area - a must for all golfers. There is also a shop run by club professional Paddy Devine who also give lessons in the swing room located on the first floor.
Pride of place in the clubhouse is reserved for the Joe Carr room. This room which brings together the trophies and other memorabilia of Sutton’s most famous member JB Carr, undoubtedly one of the greatest amateurs to play golf anywhere in the world. ( see history)
The room is modelled on the Bobby Jones room in East Lake GC in Atalanta, Georgia, which is the home to the final tournament in the Fedex Cup every year. Jones, one of the greatest golfers ever , won the Grand Slam of golf in 1930.
